? Dear Member, July 7th, 2019. The Labour Party’s National Executive Committee has agreed that the North West Region of the Labour Party should begin the process of deciding whether there should be a candidate selection for your Combined Authority ‘Metro’ Mayor candidate.To do this a ballot must take place at our CLP’s forthcoming Special General Meeting. When: Thursday, 25th July. 7pm. Where: Orrell Park Community Centre, 6, Moss Lane, Liverpool L9 8AJ. (opposite Orrell Park station). Below is the question that you will be asked. Do you wish there to be a selection for your Metro Mayor? YES NO (The ballot form is attached). If you wish to have a full selection you should vote YES.If you wish to reselect your sitting Metro Mayor you should vote NO.Any member wishing to attend and vote will need to comply with members voting eligibility which can be found in Chapter 5; Clause I; A; of the rule book.If you have any questions on this please contact me [email protected] or the Governance & Legal department on 020 7783 1498 or emailing [email protected] . All members are welcome to attend, but only members of six months membership of more can vote in the Metro Mayor ballot. It will help if you have your membership card with you. If you don't have it with you, don't worry, we will run a check before issuing the ballot paper. The freeze date for this section of the meeting is January 25th, 2019 .As agreed with region, we will also have a full agenda of business afterwards, including a discussion of the election of a new Police and Crime Commissioner (candidates Emily Spurrell and Olly Martins will be speaking) and the issue of the Mayoral/Council Leadership models.
