RECIPE
(Royal Icing)
+ 3oz Aqua Faba*
+ 1tsp Vanilla extract
+ 1 tsp butter flavour
+ 4 cups icing sugar
*Aquafaba is name for the viscous water in which legume seeds such as chickpeas have been cooked
HOW'S IT MADE
1) Whip aqua faba for 3 min until white & fluffy
a) Add in the rest of the ingredients
b) Whip for 5-7 min
c) Add water for a thinner consistency (if desired)
(Buttercream Icing / Frosting for humid climate)
+ 1/4 cup Room temp. butter (or dairy free butter)
+ 3/4 cup Vegetable Shortening
+ 1 & 1/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
+ 1/2 tsp. Butter Flavour
+ 3-6 tsp. water
+ 4 cups Icing Sugar
+ Pinch of Salt
HOW'S IT MADE
1) Cream together shortening & butter on medium speed 2 min
a) add in your salt, vanilla & butter flavour
b) mix until incorporated
c) add in half of the icing sugar & 2 tsp water
d) mix on low speed until combined, then mix on high speed for 2 min
e) add in remaining icing sugar & 1 tsp water
f ) mix on low speed until combined, then mix on high speed for 3 min
2) If icing seems too stiff add additional water
a) Water should be adjusted according to climate (humidity)
